every platform, 2026

Pick where you post. Get the exact disclosure lines, label settings and red lines for an AI persona account — checked against each platform's official policy, with the date we last checked.

Where does your persona post? Pick one or more — or read them all.

Every block was checked against the platform's official pages on October 12, 2026.

Instagram

AI persona allowed?
Yes. Fictional personas are allowed — impersonating a real person or brand is not.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio that was digitally created or altered must use Meta's disclosure tool. Profiles that feature an AI-generated person should turn on the AI-generated profile label — since August 31, 2026, unlabeled ones lose reach.
How to disclose
Turn on the "AI-generated profile" label in your profile settings (Instagram's help page has the current path), and use Meta's AI disclosure option when you post a Reel with a photorealistic persona or a generated voice.
BioAI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is.
CaptionMade with AI — this persona is AI-generated.
Red lines
  • Using a real person's image, name or likeness to deceive
  • Posting realistic AI video or audio without the disclosure
If you skip it

Meta says it may apply penalties for undisclosed realistic video or audio, and Instagram limits the reach of unlabeled profiles that feature an AI-generated person — they drop out of recommendations until the label is added or an appeal succeeds.

TikTok

AI persona allowed?
Yes, with a label on every realistic post.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Any post that uses AI or significant edits to show realistic-looking people or scenes (Community Guidelines effective September 24, 2026). A photorealistic persona qualifies on every post.
How to disclose
Switch on the "AI-generated content" setting in the post options, or add your own clear caption, sticker or watermark.
CaptionAI-generated persona.
BioAI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is.
Red lines
  • Using a private person's likeness without consent
  • Sexualized, fetishized or harassing AI likenesses
  • AI content that misleads about public events, news or endorsements
If you skip it

TikTok says unlabeled content may be removed, restricted or labeled by its team depending on the harm it could cause. Labels TikTok applies itself can't be removed.

YouTube

AI persona allowed?
Yes. An AI persona posing as a human expert on health, legal, financial or political topics can't monetize.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Content that makes a real person appear to say or do something they didn't, alters a real event or place, generates a realistic scene that didn't occur, or uses AI music as the main focus.
How to disclose
In YouTube Studio, when uploading, open Attributes and set "AI use" to Yes. Viewers see a "Made with AI" label.
DescriptionThis video features an AI-generated persona.
Channel bioAI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is.
Red lines
  • Impersonating a real person or channel — disclosure is not a free pass
  • An AI persona presenting as a human expert on sensitive topics (no monetization)
If you skip it

Creators who consistently don't disclose can get a label applied manually, content removed, or suspension from the YouTube Partner Program. Detected photorealistic AI gets a label automatically.

X (Twitter)

AI persona allowed?
Yes, as long as the persona isn't used to deceive.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Only for monetized creators posting AI-generated video of armed conflict. Bot accounts run through the API must say they're bots. Everything else is voluntary.
How to disclose
Open the post menu, choose Add Content Disclosures and turn on "Made with AI". State the AI persona in your bio.
BioAI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is.
PostMade with AI.
Red lines
  • A manufactured identity used to deceive
  • Depicting a real person or brand without the parody, commentary or fan label
  • Running an AI reply bot without X's written approval
If you skip it

Undisclosed AI armed-conflict video costs monetized creators 90 days of payouts, permanently on repeat. Deceptive identities face reach limits up to suspension.

Twitch

AI persona allowed?
Yes. Twitch has no AI rule, and avatar creators are explicitly accommodated.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Never for AI. Only mature-content classification labels and paid-promotion disclosure are mandatory.
How to disclose
There's no AI label — say it in your channel bio and stream title. Use the branded content disclosure for any paid promotion.
Channel bioAI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is.
Stream titleAI persona stream.
Red lines
  • Impersonating a real person or organization
  • "Deepfake" videos or intimate images of an identifiable person
  • Nudity, regardless of the medium used to create it
If you skip it

Nothing for AI itself. Conduct violations range from warnings to 24-hour–30-day suspensions, and indefinite suspension for the most serious cases.

Fanvue

AI persona allowed?
Yes — AI creators are explicitly welcomed.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Always. All AI-generated media needs a clear and prominent disclosure, and intimate content must also be marked 18+.
How to disclose
Use a bio statement, caption, watermark or accompanying message — and never tell fans the persona is a real person, in posts or in chats.
BioAI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is.
CaptionAI-generated content.
Red lines
  • A real person's likeness without documented consent and verification
  • Anything that resembles a minor — prompt text doesn't change visual resemblance
  • Telling fans the persona is a real person
If you skip it

Content removal, then temporary suspension, then a permanent ban — and Fanvue can revoke a creator's balance for breaches.

OnlyFans

AI persona allowed?
No for a fully fictional persona — wholly AI-generated accounts and content aren't permitted. Yes for AI content that clearly features the verified creator.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Every post that is generated, altered or enhanced by AI.
How to disclose
Add the caption signifier "#ai" or "#AIGenerated" to every AI post.
Caption#AIGenerated
Red lines
  • Wholly AI-generated accounts or content
  • AI content that doesn't feature you, the verified creator
  • Fake or manipulated intimate images of anyone else
If you skip it

Content or account deactivation through a published ladder — warning, final warning, suspension, ban — and earnings can be withheld.

Patreon

AI persona allowed?
Yes by implication — there's no rule on AI creators. A photorealistic persona is limited to Safe for All Audiences pages.
Disclosure is mandatory when
Never for AI. Page category and consent rules apply instead.
How to disclose
There's no AI label — put the AI persona in your page description and keep a photorealistic persona's page Safe for All Audiences.
Page descriptionAI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is.
Red lines
  • Hyperrealistic adult AI depictions without a real, consenting adult
  • AI adult chatbots or virtual-partner experiences
  • Manipulated media used to deceive
If you skip it

General enforcement — removal, suspension or termination — and payouts stay locked until identity verification is completed.

On every platform

  • Sponsored posts: Start any paid or gifted post with "#ad" or "Paid ad" and use the platform's paid-partnership tool. US and UK advertising rules treat an AI persona's endorsement like anyone else's.
  • EU audiences: If the account earns money and the content can reach the EU, the EU AI Act has required a visible label at first exposure since August 2, 2026. Hidden metadata isn't enough.
  • Direct messages: Stay in character if you like, but never deny being AI when someone asks.

Questions about the kit

Is this legal advice?

No. It summarises each platform's published rules for AI persona accounts and links the official page behind every block. Platforms change their rules, so check the linked source before you rely on a detail, and talk to a lawyer about anything specific to your situation.

How often is the kit updated?

We re-check every platform's official pages each quarter and whenever a platform announces a change. The date at the top of the kit is the last full check.

Which platforms allow a fully AI persona account?

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch and Fanvue allow a fictional AI persona with the right disclosure, and Patreon allows one on Safe for All Audiences pages. OnlyFans doesn't: its rules list wholly AI-generated accounts and content as content you can't share, and AI content there must clearly feature the verified creator.

What should my bio say?

One unambiguous line works everywhere: "AI-generated creator — the persona isn't real, the content is." Then add each platform's own setting or caption on top, because a bio line alone doesn't satisfy the per-post rules on TikTok, YouTube or Instagram.

Not legal advice. Platform rules change — every block shows the date we last checked and links the official source. The full breakdown, including the FTC and EU AI Act rules, is in our AI influencer disclosure requirements 2026 guide.
